My first post!
What do people say to wish success in creative endeavours -“break a leg”? Or is it “smooth sailing”? がんばって? The last one is “Ganbatte” – a Japanese phrase with no direct equivalent in English, but roughly, it translates to “Do your best” or “Good luck”.
Ganbatte is more than just a simple “I wish you well” – behind it is a philosophical meaning, a way of life: do your best with what you have and keep moving forward in the face of obstacles.
So be it. Ganbatte, Anton!
